Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a woman who completely altered the role and importance of women in law and society. On August 10, 1993, Ginsburg was appointed to the supreme court, becoming the second woman to earn a position in the country’s highest judiciary platform. Ginsberg began her journey to law for her childhood, with her mother being her primary encouragement. Whilst Ginsberg was in high school her mother passed away, but Ginsberg continued her path, which eventually led her to become a supreme court justice. After high school, Ginsberg attended Cornell University. Subsequently, she attended Harvard and Columbia Law School, as one of the few women in her class. She then became a professor at  Rutgers Law School and Columbia Law School, where she was again one of the few woman teaching. A vast element of Ginzberg’s career was the advocation of women’s rights and gender equality, and for her efforts, she is recognized as “Notorious R.B.G.”, which symbolizes public resistance, private resilience, and justice.

Ginsberg has vastly affected the lives of many, and her presence in the supreme court and the obstacles she faced on the path the earning that position strongly advocated gender equality. This year, two films have been produced, honoring Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The first, titled “RBG,” was released on May 4. “RBG” was a documentary of Ginsberg’s life and role in generating gender equality. The film was comprised of a series of interviews, and it shed light on Ginsburg’s accomplishments. The second film, “On The Basis of Sex,” is a film that portrays the life of Ginsberg. The film will be released on December 25.
