Trident Receives High Marks

Posted on 01 February 2010 by Dan Steele

Recently, Trident was entered into the National Scholastic Press Association evaluation by its adviser Laura Holk. Holk submitted Trident Magazine issues from last years staff, under the editors of Christina Dialynas and Kelsey Shreiberg. Over a long grading period, the results came back with amazing marks. Trident was ranked All American, the top category a Magazine can receive from the evaluation. Out of 500 points, Trident received 475.

None of the staff had been advised that the magazines had been submitted to the organization, and were happily surprised with the results that came back. “I was so excited to hear that Trident got an All-American rating from the National Scholastic Press Association because I know that Christina and I, Ms. Holk, and the entire staff worked incredibly hard to make each issue its best,” said Schreiberg, one of the editors from last years staff. Along with Schreiberg, Dialynas was an editor for Trident. Both girls worked very hard, during class and on their own time, making Trident one of the best high school magazines in the country.

“Content appears wide and varied, which is rather remarkable. The magazine is somewhat sizeable,” said the judge who evaluated Trident. Trident received high marks in all categories and received bonus points because it was run mostly by students. Trident put out very high quality magazines last year, as well as creating an award winning website that featured new news almost everyday.

Recently, Trident has been pushing for another award with regards to the online version of Trident, striving to receive the top award in the country. Truly, Trident has taken big steps to becoming one of the best high school programs in the country.
