The House of Blues in Anaheim was occupied by the students of Corona del Mar High School on Saturday. All high school grade levels were well represented at the 2010 Winter Formal. Though the club was a bit crowded, the good times kept rolling with dancing, laughing, and loads of memories.
“Winter Formal is always a highlight of the year,” said sophomore ASB member Sarah Hostetler. ”The venue this year was perfect and really got everyone out to dance.”
The night started at 8:00 pm with music blasting and bass shaking the entire room. The venue was chosen by the 2008-2009 ASB class, and it was a good choice. Though space was limited and there were difficulties throughout the night getting up and down the stairs, it was still a perfect spot to party.
Though the night was close to perfect, one thing kept it from being phenominal, the fact that the next day, most students had to get studying for finals.
“Well ASB didn’t decide on the date and it was the only date House of Blues could do it,” said Hostetler.
Decpite the unfortunant date of the dance, students continued to have fun. It was a brilliant set up by ASB, and a night no student will ever forget. Especially seniors Victoria Kent and Brian Hurst who were voted Winter Formal queen and king.
Overall, it was the perfect way to end the semester. Most of the student body was present which got me asking, was it the most populated Formal in CdM’s history? ”I’m not sure if it was the most ever,” said Hostetler. ”But I think it was.”
