It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas…

Posted on 16 December 2009 by Lauren Fox

As the holidays are quickly approaching, students are preparing for the winter break. With numerous activities happening around the school campus, everyone will be entertained during this (what seems very slow) week at school. The highly anticipated break is just around the corner and students have been very excited.

“ I am excited for Winter Break because I finally get a break from school and get to go on vacation,” said sophomore Angie Huang.

The days are getting colder but there is no need to worry. Hot chocolate is being sold in the quad at break for anyone who wishes to purchase a warm and delightful holiday drink. No need to rush to Starbucks, the hot chocolate is sold at break in the quad for a $1. The International Princess Project Club will be selling this holiday treat.

“Selling hot chocolate in the quad is a great way to raise money. It’s like bringing a mini Starbucks to the quad,” said freshman Brittany Delaney.

Students were fortunate to get a real taste of winter and play in the snow (or ice) that was brought out onto the field on Wednesday during break. Christmas tunes were ringing and hot chocolate was selling.

On Thursday night Orchesis and Intermediate will perform their annual Holiday Christmas Show. With many different holiday themed dances, everyone will be in the holiday spirit!

Holiday time is the season of giving. During the coat drive, sponsored by PAL, students can donate their coats, blankets, or jackets. The coat drive is going on Thursday and Friday in the quad during break. It is another opportunity to receive a hot chocolate. With your donated coat you will get a free cup of hot peppermint cocoa! These coats will be donated to the Soup Kitchen over the holiday break.

Along with donating coats, PAL is also selling cookies in the quad for 50 cents each.

Candy canes are one of the many symbols of Christmas during the holiday season. Candy cane grams have been selling for $4 along with candy canes for $1. These Christmas treats  along with a gram will be delivered to  students throughout the rest of the week.

With so many holiday activities going on around campus, students should be sure to get a feel for the holidays. With a holiday show, activities, refreshments during break and lunch, and opportunities to give back, all students have something to occupy themselves through this last week of the 2009 school year.
