Corona del Mar High School experienced the first shower of the season today. Students were pleasantly surprised, except for the ones that looked at Yahoo Weather, but no one really does that anyway.
While some parts of the nation are already experiencing snowfall and cold weather, the temperature here in Newport Beach has remained relatively pleasant. However, that all changed today as temperatures dropped and water fell from the sky.
The rain affected happenings on campus in a number of ways. Activities in the quad were curtailed due to wetness. Students mostly expressed an attitude of nonchalance. Senior Jackson May said “It didn’t even rain that much.” Proving that while the rain does not matter all that much, it’s still pretty noticeable.
The most impacted sector of CdM is by far the area outside of Ms. Mayberry’s room. After it rains there is a non-stop torrential downpour outside her door. It is quite terrible. If it is at all possible avoid that area outside Ms. Mayberry’s room if you do not want the possibility of getting wet.

Students found large parts of the campus to be littered with puddles. Unfortunately these puddles, which can fun for some, have been hazardous for others. Those wearing jeans that are slightly too long have had serious issues with the lower portion of their jeans getting wet. Everyone knows how inconvenient wetness on the back of their jeans cans be.
Generally though everyone seems to have a positive view of the rain. Teacher Laura Mayberry said, “Yeah, I love the rain, it’s awesome.”
